a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

I burned a CD for the mother (mother’s day gift… whatever) and then caught a bus to Toronto.

My brother, J, and his roommate have a new dog, a Dalmatian named… Patito? No, that’s the name of a guy in my World of Warcraft guild so probably not. Anyway, it used to be a rescue dog but its career was over so they took it in to keep it… well, alive.

J and I had a good drive to JP’s. Stopped for dinner, good music on the way and caught up. He’s never really been happy working except back in the day when he worked for the city parks department. In thinking about that, he’s thinking of heading back to school: to college to get a degree or whatever in horticulture and the like. That’d be pretty cool for him.

Got to my brother’s around ten and saw their new baby [Ava] and my mother [visiting from BC]. Had a few beers and then JP (the older brother) and mother went to bed. J and I stayed up watching celebrity poker with our beer and pretzels.

I finished reading Neverwhere on the bus to Toronto. Man, what a good book - definitely the best from that fantasy course. I mean, Lord of the Rings is good and all but nothing new: I already knew that story. Anyway, I started into Asimov’s Foundation tonight. Borrowed those books from my J almost a year ago now.
