a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

This morning felt like I was living in a movie. Wake up, still unemployed, still unmotivated. Girlfriend’s up and with friends (her sister and sister’s friend) over, cleaning. She’s urging me to clean the house and find a job - even to the point that there’s an application form for Tim Horton’s on the freezer door. The perfect opener for a movie where something fantastic happens to our main character (me) to change his life for the better.

Except, I know that won’t happen. If I continue doing nothing, there won’t be something amazing that will pop up and change everything. I’ve got to do some work. Get a job. Even clean (occasionally).

Maybe I did have a chance at the turning moment and just missed it. Maybe it was last night when the others at my table thought the waitress was into me. Maybe not.

So I did the uninteresting thing. I steam cleaned the floors when asked to. Helped Stephen (Cora’s sister’s friend) look at computers online and then buy good, well priced peripherals at Futureshop. Got a bunch of groceries for the first time in months. Organized plans with friends (including Dennis!). Went out to dinner at the Outback (I was already full from eating last night’s unfinished meal) and then saw ‘Mindhunters.’

Where did this movie come from? I had never heard of it but when browsing the listings online I saw it listed. Once I saw both Val Kilmer and Christian Slater were in it, I knew we should had to go see this movie. Anyway, it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. It really wasn’t at all what I was expecting and I rather much enjoyed it. So nice when you’re expecting nothing much and it’s actually decent. It was a bit gory where it didn’t need to be but oh well.

When we returned, the carpets were (relatively) dry so we put the furniture back and rearranged things. Looks much nicer now - I think everyone agreed on that.

I got the pictures section up. Worked on that a lot last night and put it up just now. So far it’s a lot of screens from World of Warcraft (which I haven’t played in a few days - and I don’t miss, either) and a few from visiting my brother’s place last weekend. Man, I need my own digital camera.

    Hehe, yeah.

Actually, I think there’s an option I can turn on where people can create accounts for my site which remember their info regardless of cookies. Thatmight be kinda’ neat but I turned it off.
