Up in time for the guild Molten Core raid, which was fun.
Went out after eleven tonight with Dennis and Cora to do some geocaching. Did a fairly easy one in Kitchener to warm up and then drove way up north past Elmira to some community of Mennonites/Amish people. We had to sneak between two houses, in the dark, to get to a park where we began our search. There was a really well kept path in the woods that was extremely dark and Sleepy Hollow-like. Creepy to begin with and once we started walking down the path, the sound of a thousand fluttering things above us began. Birds? Bats?! Who knows, but it continued all around and overhead for 200 meters. Managed to brave the winged creatures, breach the dense forest walls by the local reservoir, find the cache, swipe some test tubes and make it back to the car without any crazed Mennonites/Amish people attacking. All in all, quite successful.
[Side note: Man, that X-File ruined Dennis and I - sure Mennonites and Amish are very different, but in our minds they're both going to kill us]
You can see the path we took below. We parked at the purple star, walked to the path between houses and then walked to the forest near the water. The blue star marks the cache. You can see the creepy long straight path along the northern edge of the trees.
Afterwards, we grabbed some McDonald’s, people went to bed and I played a few hours of Episode I: Racer and then some Quake II before finishing Lullaby. What a cool book.
