I managed to shower before plans were made tonight - quite impressive, I know. Anyway, Mike, Dennis, Alison and I went to a small restaurant in Cambridge to see a small Ottawa band play.
By day, I’m sure it was a nice little place…

With the band and crowd in there, it just looked like a crappy little place. Anyway, the banks was alright. They were all excited and drinking and the acoustics were bad so even though it sounds like they’ve got some good music to play, it wasn’t all that great there. I imagine they sound better on their CD. Well, except the CD probably still has the screaming. The screaming isn’t really my thing. I would have preferred if they just played the music without lyrics.
I don’t know if it was the location or the band but the crowd there was the weirdest ever. There was no one there our age, only a bunch of 15-year-old skanks, old creepy men with long dirty hair and guys in their mid-thirties who looked like they wanted to recapture their mid-twenties but couldn’t stand the place enough to bother. But it was just such a weird mix, especially to be missing people around my age. Just bizarre.
But overall, it was interesting. Good to get out of the house and it was an experience to discover that Cambridge has a downtown. And a really nice looking one, too. We were all shocked!
I started back into Half-Life 2 yesterday and played a bunch tonight. Damn, is that ever a great game.
I’ve got a decent lead on a job. Nothing exciting or anything, just factory work that’s somewhat nearby where the hours are decent (for me). Hopefully I’ll hear back on Monday.
So Belinda Stronach might just be the hottest woman in Canadian politics (who pays attention to any other politics anyway?) and yes, I might have had a dream or two where I was dating her.

A week ago (or two or something like that), she left the Conservative Party of Canada to join the Liberal Party of Canada. The sheer evilness of it is just so damn cool and I think I’m a little turned on by it. She was dating the second most important guy in the Conservative Party, Peter McKay, who had no idea that she was going to switch parties - BURN!
Apparently, she wanted to leave the Conservative Party based on the direction it is heading. Now, she has a Cabinet Position in the nation’s ruling party. She also makes the vote in the house dead even instead of the Liberals losing by 2 votes.
Hawt.

did you know that belinda was dating a guy that is friends with my manager’s sister? i know that’s not that exciting, but apparently he’s been over for dinner, and somebody caught him with belinda somewhere in europe and that’s how everyone found out they were dating (i think - my manager was just telling me about this, but because i hardly pay attention to politics, i didn’t know that these people were actually well known)
also, you forgot to mention the weird horse that was on the bike!
