J,
Glad to hear about the whole environmental management and assessment thing. Hopefully it’ll help you find work you can bare.
My job? I like it and will honestly miss it when I leave.
Mind you, I’ll miss the job mostly because I’ll miss the people there. The job itself is fine. I’m sure I would get sick of it after a year or two but it’s cool to do something with my hands for a change and have concrete stuff at the end of the day that I made. The work itself isn’t overly difficult and doesn’t require much of any thought, but is still something that I can put effort into and do well, as opposed to some who do a shitty job of it.
Most of all though, I’ll miss the people. It’s the most diverse group of people I’ve ever met. All kinds of interesting types of full time people and I really like a couple of the students I get to work with. You know how sometimes you meet someone you really hit it off with and it feels like you’ve known them for longer than you have? One of those deals. I’m hoping to not lose touch with two of them after I leave the job but we’ll see what happens. Sometimes the choice isn’t entirely yours, I suppose.
Funny how we’re both moving on to other parts in our lives, yet we seem to be switching places. You back into school and me away from it. Yet for both of us it leads to the same thing, different lifestyles and the hopes of something better. Something more to our liking.
Let’s hope it works, for both of us.
