a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

Today, Ryan had a good interview with the admissions guy from the masters program he applied to. The guy said Ryan was pretty much in once two guys signed off on the application (as a formality).

This is great news for selfish me as it means Ryan, Shawn and I can probably sign a lease for this place for another year and just split the $1200 a month rent three ways. This is not to say Shawn and I haven’t been looking for something just the two of us. Shawn’s got nothing to do but sleep and look for a new place by day and kill shit in World of Warcraft by night. I think he’s focusing more on the latter, but he’s called a few places during the day.

As an added little possibility, Jonathan from work (who called in sick today) mentioned that he was sick of living with his parents and might want to move out. If he were to join us as a fourth, it would be down to $300 a month each. Not bad at all. We’ll see though.

Tired and groggy all day today. I nearly caught a 40-minute nap this afternoon while working. I was so close to sleep, I’m not sure I said a word during that time and my eyes were barely open. I think Laura was concerned but I eventually woke up again.

It rained this afternoon. This proved a minor inconvenience when trying to hang out in a park with Laura after work. I tried sticking to an aluminum bench on the side of a baseball diamond but then figured that since I was already dirty and sweaty from work, getting wet from the grass didn’t make much difference. Then there was the softball team…

On my bike home, I got a flat in my back tire. Again. This time I could actually see the offending object: A staple, perfectly imbedded in the tire and tube. Great. I spent part of tonight patching it up with the wheel still attached. Such a pain. Let’s hope it holds.

Apparently people from my WoW guild follow or have read my page. In looking through all the profiles of other members, mine is certainly the only somewhat interesting website anyone’s admitted to having. Our friend Sivart complains to Shawn that he doesn’t update much and one of the other mages commented that I’m a good writer. I’m flattered but tend to disagree when I read such better writing elsewhere.

Oh right. So the page still looks like crap. I’ll work on it… tomorrow.

Maybe.

here comes the warm machine
