It seemed like a third of the staff at work quit yesterday, ’cause they certainly weren’t there working today.
It was absolutely pouring out this morning. Ryan offered me a ride which made him late but it’s his last day so what the fuck does he care, right?
At lunch, I went to 7-11 and got one of those buffalo chicken taquito things they gave me a sample of the other day. Damn, they hooked me with their shitty food. I also picked up a can of Monster.
After work, Laura and I walked to her place. It was hot, wet and humid out… and then it rained on us. No, not rained. Poured. Buckets and buckets of rain. The sky opened up and all of the world’s water was dumped on us.
It was a long walk to her place and we were soaked right through all our clothes, but you know what? I really enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun. Oh sure, my white shirt stuck to my chest, showing everything off to passing motorists and I was worried about my camera but had my jacket to protect it and my bag from water. I just can’t get over how ridiculously soaked we were. Apparently the weather accompanied a tornado somewhere somewhat close by.
When we got to her place, we yelled for her sister to bring us towels and as we were drying off, the rain stopped and the sun came out. I had a shower there and I think I enjoyed it too much. Their shower is much more spacious and well lit than mine, plus it has all kinds of fun things: soaps, shampoos, conditioners and cleaners. All sorts of things. I had to smell them all to find the least girly-smelling ones but I managed to do alright.
Her parents cooked up a real dinner of chicken, potatoes and peas, which I ate a lot of. Really, I ate whatever was not eaten by the others, which was probably half the food. Afterwards, we watched ‘I [heart] Huckabees,’ picked up her sisters from work and talked and played asshole for a while.
It’s late so I figure I’ll try to leave for work early tomorrow so I can stop in at 7-11 and pick up a couple cans of Monster. I’m not an addict. Honest.
I asked Laura out tonight. It was all silly and stupid since I guess we were kind of together already but making things somewhat official is always nice.
Yes, it sounds all wussy and shit but whatever. You and I are switching topics.
You know those days that last so long that by the end of it, the stuff earlier in the day seems like it was a completely different day? Regularly getting 4 hours of sleep a night affords you a 20-hour day that feels like two complete days. Doing it on a regular basis is really weird. Every day is so damn long.
