a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

Work was weird without Laura there. Weird without anyone there. When all the fun people were leaving before, I didn’t take the time to really notice or miss them since Laura was still there and she was the best part of work, obviously. Now that she and all the others are gone it’s like a different place… but the same setting. It’s like the mirror universe version of Heidt, really.

Today begins frosh week for the UW frosh. Lots of parties and drinking going on around here and all around. A tonne of people outside our place tonight.

That’s right kids, pay no attention to the seasoned veterans in unit 105. Ignore the man beginning grad school who sat through 10 hours of not lectures but course syllabi and related speeches. Ignore the man beginning a full time career job next week who dislikes his life so much that he plays a computer game constantly to ignore it all. And certainly ignore the guy who no longer wears a shirt indoors, who is working in a factory after his five years of university education and will be unemployed within the month.

Really, I wish I could get an exact date from the plant manager so I could stick up a counter on my site.

Tonight, Ryan and I discovered that mail does not easily catch on fire. This is quite a contrast to the tea towel which certainly did.
