Laura decided to save me some time and write out my day for me:
- Work sucked because I missed Laura too much.
- Met Laura at the bus terminal in the rain… I’m a jerk and made her walk in the rain to meet me.
- We got dinner at Harvey’s and then fooled around so we were almost late meeting Mike and Jill, but damn, the fooling around was good.
- I got lost looking for a bank machine that was around the corner… seems I’m kinda dumb, but I’m good in bed so it doesn’t matter.
- Went to Holy Joe’s which was full of holey couches. They pretty much asked us to leave so we went across the street to Healey’s where Laura’s friend Wendie works and got some free water.
- Went back for the concert, which was good. After Oceanship played I feel asleep because I’m old and boring.
- Decided to go out for dessert, which was much more difficult than expected. Some places were too expensive and lacked washrooms. We had to use the dirtiest washroom ever in Starbucks which 2 girls came out of before we used it.
- Finally found a bubble tea place that also had waffles, or advertised them rather. They only really had toast. It was tasty though. Mike got angry because they forgot then messed up his bubble tea.
- Walked back to Laura’s for more fooling around because I’m a dirty hooker.
Laura was pretty accurate in describing the general flow of things. Work was boring. That’s normal though. When I got to the change room, Grant’s locker was open and this note was posted on the inside of the door.

Let me tell you about Holy Joe’s. There’s this bar, The Big Bop, on the corner of Queen and Bathurst. Above it, is the Reverb, a grungy, mid-sized live music venue. Above that is Holy Joe’s, a small room lit by Christmas lights.
When we arrived, there were two big lines and we managed to skip both of them, since they were for the two venues below Holy Joe’s. We went up the stairs, through the Reverb and they weren’t at all ready. After the guy fished for change in his pockets to take our cover money, he “suggested” we take off and come back in an hour.
So we left the place and figured we’d hang out somewhere else for a bit. Looking across the street, we saw Healey’s. You know the Jeff Healey Band? This is his bar. And Laura has a friend who waits tables there and always wants her to visit - but she never has. Anyway, we saw it there and went in to visit for a bit.
After that we went back to Holy Joe’s and they were all set up for us now with the lights on looking sexy.

So Oceanship (see also: here) played and they were really good. I liked ‘em a lot.
It wasn’t just them playing though. There were two more bands but we weren’t really there to see them and I didn’t want to stick around for them. So yeah, since I was uninterested and waiting to leave, I was a bit bored and fell asleep. Whatever dude.
From there we wanted to go get dessert or something but it proved rather difficult. We kept walking along Queen towards Laura’s place and we were practically there by the time we found this bubble tea place to stop at where they were advertising waffles all over their walls.

Turns out, they didn’t have waffles though. Only toast. Yeah, toast. But flavoured toast. I got strawberry and it turned out to be a thick, spongy toast. Quite good, but not so much worth the $2.99.
I wasn’t impressed with the service though. My tea has no flavour and Mike’s never came. When we asked about it, they went and started making it. When it did arrive, though, it has pearls instead of jellies and Mike hates pearls. So that was returned but instead of making another one with jellies, they didn’t being him anything. So he just sat there while we had our not-so-good teas. Very unimpressed.

That was about the end of our night. From there, we walked Mike and Jill to the nearest subway stop and went back to Laura’s place.
