Today was the last day for the crazy girls and Shawn. Funny how on their last day, we get more people from plant 1 to work here. Among them was a young, really dark black guy who always smiled a big grin, like that guy in ‘I [Heart] Huckabees.’
Also among the new ones was Clarence, with whom I got to work. He’s 63, has grey/white hair, a mullet and… a Blackberry? Yeah. It’s a weird combination. Also, he’s as hyper and energetic as Crazy is.
This afternoon, some guy in Orgrimmar was selling a pair of [Wildheart Gloves] for 6 gold. I wasn’t sure, but I thought the [Wildheart Raiment] was the druid set and I was like, “Hmmm… a druid might be fun.” So I asked in guild if those were the druid gloves and when I was told yes, I bought them and rolled myself a druid.
His name’s Gaida, after the Battlestar Galactica officer who plots jumps and watches the draedus console. He’s level 4 now. Only 50 levels to go until I can use those gloves…

Shawn, Ryan, Melissa and I went and saw ‘Serenity’ and it’s a damn cool show. I really got the impression Melissa didn’t want to be there, though. Sucks as that probably made Ryan enjoy it a bit less.
The fear with making movies of TV shows is that a movie is so limited by it’s short length. A miniseries is longer, but has a lower budget than a feature. This can make the movie seem crammed or unfinished.
As I was waiting for the movie to start, I started getting nervous. I wondered how they could possibly get a good, full story in there. Something that wouldn’t be too deep for people new to the show, but still deep enough to have meaning for those who had watched Firefly.
Turns out, they managed to do it just fine. A good, solid story that fits well into the time allotted. Deep enough for those of us who wanted answers to some of our burning questions and possibly not too difficult for someone new to the show (though it really wasn’t made for them). With all the humour we wanted, along the way.
Ah yes, and I’m a newb. I ordered pizza online for dinner tonight and just clicked through all the options without paying attention. Then when I went to pick it up, it wasn’t there. After twenty minutes of waiting around, the guy there figured out that the pizza went to a location in Toronto. Oh right. Last time I ordered I was visiting Laura and I didn’t change my settings. So the order went to Toronto. Idiot.
Can I suggest something that doesn’t involve violence, or is this the wrong crowd for that?

Ouch…. I haven’t even been mentioned for like a week. You know, I was also around on Friday night.:(
