After the time change on the weekend, it was actually light out when I biked to work this morning. A nice change considering usually it’s black as night out, still. Unfortunately, it was darker than usual when I left to return home.

Today was a beautiful day. Excellent cool, sunny fall weather as Laura and I meandered about, grabbing lunch at McDonald’s and checking Sunrise Records before I headed back to Waterloo.
While I was gone for the weekend, the landlord sent someone to fix the fans in our bathrooms. Great! Except the new ones are loud as [...]

Today I discovered an interesting little feature IGN’s got over there, you can keep an index of your collection of games. Turns out I have a lot.
Wouldn’t you just know it; I go somewhere interesting and forget my camera. I blame Laura’s friend Matt, who was rushing us so he could get beer sooner.

So we [...]

When Laura went to class this morning, I installed World of Warcraft on her laptop (it just barely runs, but that’s enough to check the auction house), checked the guild forums, played some Super Mario 64 DS and went back to sleep.
In the afternoon, we went to the record stores and I tried to find [...]

Worked with the boss, Jeff, today, writing up inventory tags. Most of the people were sent home at noon and the rest at 3pm. I was asked to stay right until the end where it was me and seven supervisors. Yay.
Joe drove me just into Toronto and on the way we stopped for McDinner (4 [...]

More inventory today. In throwing out old stock we don’t use anymore, I rescued a couple round tops and left them outside for myself to pick up later and maybe make into tables.
I played F.E.A.R. for a couple hours tonight and it was… terrifying. I had never before screamed during anything scary. I may have [...]

Began inventory at work today. They brought in a couple scales to help count stuff we’ve got lots of. Little parts, like screws and such. The other guys acted like they knew how to use it but couldn’t actually figure it out. It was frustrating as hell for me to know what to do with [...]

More layoffs. My big Indian welder friend received his notice on Friday that this Friday is his last day. Then, May and another guy were told today that Wednesday is their last day. So much for notice.
On the plus side, I’ll get Friday off this week. Possibly Thursday or half of it, too. We’re doing [...]

Laura and I had some of that strawberry-rhubarb pie for breakfast this morning and it was most excellent, to say the least.
I played some F.E.A.R. in the afternoon, scored a free pork roast meal at Laura’s parents place and played some Quake IV in the evening.
I’ve also been playing a fair bit of Mario 64 [...]

wtb [Formal Tie] 200g pst
Convocation day for Shawn and I. Laura and her mother arrived to escort me to campus and her mother gave me a strawberry-rhubarb pie (made by real Mennonites) as a grad present. Excellent.
While waiting around before things began, I ran into Quark Ben Chan, graduating with an honours co-op CS degree, [...]
