Today at work I received a bonus. Roberto, one of the core employees who has been there for years, calls it the “garbage” bonus. It’s 4% of your earnings from the past three months minus $6 per hour missed. The subtractions quickly add up and he told me he’s had negative balances numerous times (just meaning that he didn’t get anything).

I started with $285 and ended up with $169. I then used it to buy myself a Nintendo DS (Electric Blue, of course). Damn straight. I had bought Super Mario 64 DS a few weeks ago when it was on sale at Futureshop for $30 so I’m all set. It’s quite fun and I’ve never gotten to play it before (on the N64) so it’s all new to me. The touch screen isn’t really necessary in this game but later, when I have more money, I’ll get other games that use it to better effect.

Still no word about my chemistry minor when I got back from work this afternoon. I called the advisor and he took down my number and said he’d look into it. When he called me back, he was sounding pretty negative and was talking about my failed courses. I pointed out that I was under the max allowed and he thought the max was one less than I had. When he double checked it and discovered I was correct, he said he’d keep looking and call me back. When he eventually did, he told me he’d grant me the minor. Nice.

I started into F.E.A.R. this afternoon and got rather freaked out. Just on the first level, too. So fantastic.

Boring evening. Been feeling isolated and crap. Our phone line stopped working earlier so there’s no internet or phone. I had to hike to a phone booth to call Bell and Laura to tell her what was up. I guess I’ll see her tomorrow. Convocation and such, though I don’t much feel like it.
