a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001
pictures|live

Laura and I had some of that strawberry-rhubarb pie for breakfast this morning and it was most excellent, to say the least.

I played some F.E.A.R. in the afternoon, scored a free pork roast meal at Laura’s parents place and played some Quake IV in the evening.

I’ve also been playing a fair bit of Mario 64 DS off and on over the past few days. I’m sort of glad I never got to play it on the N64 because I’m really enjoying it now as an actual new game, not just replaying a good old game I’d beaten before.

Laura says that when we got into the Rubie van when leaving the Mongolian last night, in my coldness, I made this face:

Ouch.

which is strange, ’cause I feel dumb

Okay, I sent you that picture not because it was the exact face you made, but to prove to you that possums are scary. I know I wouldn’t want to meet an angry possum alone at night…. or at all for that matter.

Why did you make this face? If you are going to say “in coldness” please elaborate.

are you saying that you are you glad you did not enjoy the mario 64 experience when it first came out so that you could enjoy the mario 64 experience 10 years later?

that’s like saying “well, i’m glad i didnt break my first hymen at 15 because I finally got to break my first hymen at 25″. please elaborate.

I was uncomfortably cold and shivering and I guess I made a face. It wasn’t a conscious decision to make it, it just happened.

It’s not that I didn’t enjoy the Mario 64 experience back in the day - I never owned the game and was busy with other games at the time so never really had the opportunity to play it. I saw it played once or twice and it looked interesting but I was busy with other stuff. So now that I have it at my fingertips when I’m away from my main gaming machines for a weekend, it’s most excellent.
