More layoffs. My big Indian welder friend received his notice on Friday that this Friday is his last day. Then, May and another guy were told today that Wednesday is their last day. So much for notice.

On the plus side, I’ll get Friday off this week. Possibly Thursday or half of it, too. We’re doing inventory and stuff starting tomorrow and they probably won’t need many people later in the week. The bad side is, of course, that I’m not earning money on those days either.

Apparently Bestbuy has this deal where you buy the DS and get Advance Wars: Dual Strike included with it, for the same price. So I called EB and discovered their return policy is nonexistent. Basically, there’s no reason to ever buy a gaming system new from EB since it’ll be the same price as somewhere else, but with no return policy.

Hmmm…

So I called Bestbuy and they’re not bundled together physically, so in theory I could buy it there and return the unopened DS, purchased from Bestbuy, to EB. Provided they don’t care that the serial numbers are different.

Except that Bestbuy is currently sold out of DS’s and they don’t know when they’ll get more in. So maybe I can try it later this week. We’ll see.
