a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

Today I discovered an interesting little feature IGN’s got over there, you can keep an index of your collection of games. Turns out I have a lot.

Wouldn’t you just know it; I go somewhere interesting and forget my camera. I blame Laura’s friend Matt, who was rushing us so he could get beer sooner.

So we went to a Halloween themed keg party. Laura and I discovered two hours beforehand that costumes were required but managed to put together some fairly decent zombie costumes at the last minute (mostly Laura’s doing). there were lots of cool costumes there like Tyler Durden, Neo, Dick Tracy, Clark Kent changing to Superman, a hostess Twinkie, a few terrorists, a lesbian dressed as a corrections officer (whom Matt hit on all night, unsuccessfully) and a couple Paper Bag Princesses (one more slutty than the other).

When we first got to the party and were looking around, I saw this guy that looked a lot like a guy I sort of knew in high school. It sometimes happens but when I see the person closer I realize they’re not that similar looking and move on. However, as the night went on, each time I saw this guy, he still looked like the guy from high school. Chris something, I can’t remember his last name.

Eventually I just asked Laura if she knew anything about him. It was a party thrown by interior designers but had a bunch of engineers, too and was generally students from Ryerson, so I thought it might be possible. Turns out he had been in residence with her in first year. She didn’t remember much about him but thought his name was Chris and that he was from BC. Ha! So I went up to him and he recognized me but couldn’t remember my name. When I said Jerome, though, he got Elliott on his own. Nice. Having come from a small town in BC, I’ve never accidentally run into someone I knew at a party before. So we talked for a while and caught up, which was pretty cool.

I think Laura and I did pretty well as zombies. I was complimented by a couple girls and an Asian gay couple on the costume. And Laura was hot… except for all the blood. She kinda’ looked like she had gone down on a lesbian friend on her period or something. Ew.

Laura’s friend Matt took off with the keg tap. I can’t imagine the people who threw the party will be thrilled about that when they realize it tomorrow, but they weren’t really manning the kegs so what did they expect?

Nope - there are a number of PC games I’ve never played and lot of them I started and never finished because they weren’t all that great and better things came along.

If the world economy fell apart and games stopped being made, I’d be set for life with the games I already have.
