A full year since the game came out. Seems like forever ago that we were just beginning our adventures in Azeroth.
The game automatically keeps track of your time played, per character, and displays it when you log onto that character. I thought it’d be kinda’ neat to add up all my playtimes between characters.
Xel
Undead // Mage // Level 60 // <Dark Alliance>

Gaida
Tauren // Druid // Level 26 // <MACHINATION>

Xel

So that’s just under 15% of the last year that I’ve spent playing World of Warcraft. Impressive. Quite the hobby.
Now let’s take a look at Shawn. He only gave me the numbers for the three characters he regularly uses, but he’s created a lot of low-level alts (more than me).
Daxxon
Undead // Warrior // Level 60 // <Transcendence>
93 days, 6 hours, 47 minutes
Daxxi
Undead // Rogue // Level 55 // <MACHINATION>
10 days, 4 hours, 25 minutes
Zibajin
Troll // Priest // Level 16 // <The Moon Rules>
1 day, 15 hours, 50 minutes
———————————————–
105 days, 3 hours, 2 minutes
So Shawn spent 29% of the past year playing World of Warcraft. Nearly a third of it. Sweet.
I even managed to grab stats from all of Ryan’s characters. You know, just for fun:
Karosk
Orc // Hunter // Level 60 // <Shadows and Dust>
32 days, 21 hours, 44 minutes, 17 seconds
Aurdoch
Undead // Mage // Level 42 // <Shadows and Dust>
7 days, 21 hours, 21 minutes, 8 seconds
Dutak
Troll // Rogue // Level 21 // <Shadows and Dust>
1 days, 10 hours, 18 minutes, 0 seconds
Kaelth
Night Elf // Druid // Level 25
6 days, 3 hours, 45 minutes, 16 seconds
Dutak
Troll // Rogue // Level 5
1 hour, 10 minutes, 39 seconds
Pein
Dwarf // Paladin // Level 1
1 hour, 52 minutes, 46 seconds
———————————————–
48 days, 12 hours, 12 minutes, 6 seconds
Ryan, of course, is the lowest of us three, having spent just above 13% of the past year playing the game. The big difference between he and I is that when he hit 60 on his main, he stopped with him and worked much more on alts. Alternatively, I’ve continued on my main and done a lot of high-end raiding with him and my guild.
Oh, and since he started that grad program he’s just about stopped playing.
We’re switching topics now.
I’m kind of pissed at my roommates today because they didn’t tell me it was haircut day. I found out when they came home with their freshly cut heads. Now I feel like a fool because I’m the only one here without one.

Switching again…
It seems tasty.woot.net still exists…. just not where you’d expect it.

29% of my last year spent playing a game. damn…
i think this is worth quoting, from day one:
November 25, 2005 @ 12:35 pm“Next it was on to the mall. Shawn and I hit EB while Ryan went to Campus Crew and picked up new pants. I grabbed my Collector’s Edition copy of the game but they were sold out of the strategy guide. Shitty. After me, Shawn got his copy and we were off. The two people in front of me at EB and the five guys behind Shawn? All there to get WoW also.”
IF you spend 8 hours a day sleeping, that means shawn spent roughly 1/2 of his awake time playing and jerome 1/4. my brother is getting into this territory, i think.
November 25, 2005 @ 6:03 pmCraziness!
Mind you, I certainly didn’t get an average of 8 hours of sleep a day last year. I’m pretty sure Shawn didn’t, either. Myself, I haven’t had that since grade 11!
