After paying off all of Visa yesterday, I tried to use it this morning to purchase SiN Episodes: Emergence, and it was declined. So I called the people and they said it was because my payment hadn’t gone through when I tried to use the card, but it had now. So I tried again and it was declined, again. Calling them back, the second person said there was no record of my payment at all – even though the automated phone system I had to go through before I could talk to a real person said, both times, that my balance was $0. After some talking, she said she’d see if there was someone else who could help me and put me on hold for five minutes. When she came back, she said the payment had “just” gone through and I could use the card again. Super. This time it worked.
So I grabbed my card, walked to Futureshop and bought new monitor.

It’s sexy! My old monitor was so blurry, I couldn’t even read text on it. It was really time for a new one.
On my way back, I stopped in at Shoppers Drug Mart where I found the new Coke. I also got a case of that cheap Labatt Genuine Honey beer.

While hooking up my monitor, Visa called to make sure it was me that spent all that money at Futureshop. How considerate of them to check up on me. It’s as if they actually cared… except for that woman the second time I called them who told me I must be lying about my payment at first since there was no record of it.
Moving on, I went and saw ‘Silent Hill’ tonight with Laura and… it’s not a really good movie. The script was terrible, the acting wasn’t very good and there were numerous little things that just bugged me.
That being said, I enjoyed it. I love Silent Hill so to see a movie interpretation of the first game (which is really what the movie’s overall plot was) was pretty cool. The visual aspects of the movie were awesome and really well done. The monsters were pretty cool and well done to the point that I imagine I’ll be able to scare Laura for months by bringing up the scene with the nurses. So cool.

Interestingly, I didn’t find it at all scary. Not in the least. Laura did, but she’s easily scared by little children made up to look creepy. Myself, I just found it all really interesting to look at and see how they had interpreted the game’s story. As it was, some story elements were vague like in the first game, and some were repeated over and over to the point where I felt like they were trying to club my to death with obvious plot elements. Guess that’s them catering to the general idiot populace.

The little girl was so creepy, you can’t deny that.

…but oh well.
June 5, 2006 @ 4:21 pmi really liked the whole look of the movie. it was so over-the-top that it wasn’t really that bad, just cool to see. and it’s not really scary, moreso horrifying i think.
June 5, 2006 @ 4:41 pmYeah, I can see that.
