a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

Today was to be the day we got new windows. Late last night, Shawn and I rearranged our rooms so the worker people could have access to the basement windows to do their thing. I had to move my dresser out of the room and my desk all the way over so they had this space to work in front of the window:

Which means that my desk is way the hell over, like this:

Rather… cramped.

When Shawn moved his stuff around, he found this nice cobweb up near his window:

And a special red variety of dust where his shelf used to be…

If we ever felt cramped in our rooms before, it was nothing compared to now. As you can see from the pictures, I go from my bed, to the little square in front of my desk and squeeze out to exit the room. Shawn’s desk is right against his bed so he has to crawl out the foot end. Fun times.

But other than going to bed last night and getting ready for work this morning, that was supposed to be it for the inconvenience. When we returned from work, the windows should have been done so we could move everything back into its place where it would remain until we move in a month or so.

Yes, we were supposed to get new windows today but when I returned from work, they had done all the windows except mine. I asked and they said they will get to mine tomorrow. Maybe. So I have to live in this cramped space for another day.

My shoelace at work has been ready to break for nearly a month. I’m not sure how it’s still holding on but I tie and untie it each day ever so gingerly. I really don’t want to be bothered replacing it.

Have you seen the Richard Simmons episode of Whose Line Is It Anyway? It’s the best episode ever. EVER. Also, it’s right here.
