Tonight, Laura and I went out to her RIADI (Ryerson Institute for Aerospace Design and Innovation) BBQ. It’s like UW’s co-op, but only for the aerospace students and not nearly as well run. Also, instead of charging $400 a term, they take a cut of the students’ earnings - over a third of what Laura [...]

I’m so glad they changed the radio station at work. I know I talked about this yesterday but it really makes work a lot more tolerable. Besides, what else am I going to talk about? How I went through piles and piles of papers on my desk tonight and feel all accomplished having demolished the [...]

I didn’t hate my job today. They’ve changed the radio station from the shitty, repetitive one they’ve had for a year to a station that’s a bit less repetitive and plays better, more varied music. Also, the work itself just went smoother than on Monday.
I’ve slowly been working on the entries from my trip to [...]

Skipped out on work today. Another of my monthly ’stay at home and look for work’ day. There’s an awesome job working for a DuPont company in Georgetown that I’d really love. I’d be perfect for it, too. I just have to find a way to let them know that. So I made a decent [...]

I’m starting to get used to dialling 519 before local calls, finally. When they first mentioned the change, I didn’t think I’d care since I don’t really call locally at all. Turns out I do but it took a slight inconvenience for me to realize it. Pft.
I watched ‘50 First Dates’ last night and it [...]

Vacation to BC, Day 9

Our plane was delayed getting into Kelowna this morning because of strong headwinds coming across the prairies. So we left Kelowna late but those same strong winds were behind us on the way to Toronto so we ended up arriving a few minutes early.
There was this thing on the wall in [...]

Vacation to BC, Day 8

Laura and I went out to Munson Mountain late this morning to enjoy the view. There are like a million benches up there now. It’s weird.
We walked around, had our legs scratched by evil prickly desert plants, took the obligatory pictures and headed back into town.
For lunch, we headed to Taco [...]

Laura and I had lunch with my parents today at the Lost Moose Lodge. It’s a place high up on the side of the valley, east of Penticton. Good view, boring food. Also, the server was terrible. She was the oldest server I’ve [...]

Laura and I had lunch with Kate this afternoon. We were going to do it Saturday, but she and her family made last-minute plans to go visit her husband’s relatives for the weekend so we had to do it today. We made frozen pizzas [...]

I’ve been storing boxes at my sister’s place for a couple years now. Old toys, possessions… pretty much my entire childhood. The plan was for me to pick it all up when I came back to live in BC but since it looks [...]
