Laura’s big family reunion was today and it was… well, boring. The very young children like it because they get to play silly games together and the old people like it because they get to see everyone but those in their teens and early twenties are dragged to it and are bored to tears. Laura and I sat around for two hours before dinner finally began.
The food was kind of uninspiring. There was one hot dish I tried as well as about five different potato salads, most of which were disappointing. When I went back for seconds, all that was left of interest was a bun. Dessert was better but there wasn’t as much pie as I was hoping for. All the same, the pie was worth going for.
When we had arrived, we had to go register and there were boxes you could put your name into to win door prizes. I didn’t put my name in since the prizes all looked… pretty crappy. Unfortunately, Laura put my name in for me and despite me hoping to not be chosen, Laura’s grandfather pulled my name out of the box second. So I went up in front of everyone and picked out… a pair of wooden coat hangers.

Awesome?
There was also a table full of jars of candy which you were to guess at the number in each jar. Laura won the first one (apparently she wins every year) and Rachel won the second.
