a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

I’ve now tried twice to switch banks to PC Financial. Yesterday when I showed up, the guy was on his way to lunch… at 3:30. Today, Laura and I waited for 40 minutes before we had to take off to make dinner with her parents. I checked online and it’ll either take me forever to apply online, during which I have to go in to a kiosk anyway, or I can go back a third time.

Now that it’s just me using the PVR, it always looks so empty and lonely when Laura goes home. I manage to watch everything I record in a week so the only stuff that stays on is the stuff I record for Laura. Once her visit here ends, all her stuff has been watched and deleted leaving the PVR without anything recorded. It’s kind of a sad sight.

I picked up a new duvet cover set at Sears yesterday. It was regularly $110, marked down to $56 with an additional 60% off. Not a bad deal for 100% burns (?) cotton stuff.

OMG Battlestar Galactica is SO AWESOME.

Laura and I watched Exodus, part 2 yesterday and it was just awesomely cool. I’ve been listening to the podcasts for each of these new season three shows because I want to absorb any scrap of info I can. Spoilers to follow…

Anyway, yeah. Fuck. When Tiye kills his wife? Frik. I think the actor who plays Tiye might be the best actor on the show. The previous episode, where he learns that she betrayed them? With only one eye, the emotion in his expression as he goes from disbelief to anger and just pain, damn. And killing Ellen. Also damn. Of course, she was a bitch and had it coming =p

And seriously, the Galactica just plummeting straight down like a mammoth brick in the atmosphere, while launching Vipers? Jesus that was cool. In listening to Ronald D. Moore’s podcast, he said something to the effect of, “We damn well better get a visual effects award for that fucking shot.”
