Today began my two-week excursion on the road, doing the inventory of the local public board’s schools.
I overheard a 50+ year-old school secretary repeatedly say “alrightey then” on the phone to parents and suppliers. Is she a big fan of ‘Ace Ventura,’ or has that really just become a regular saying now?
My favourite part of today was when I walked quietly into the back of a room of students who looked to be writing a test. Except, there was no teacher present in the room and they were all whispering to each other and looking at each others’ sheets. I didn’t make a sound, but one student noticed me out of the corner of his eye and I could see the subtle gestures and whispers quickly spread across the room as everyone suddenly went silent and stared right down at their papers. I guess me standing there quietly, looking around and making notes on a clipboard looked like I was official and shit.
Awesome.

hahahahaha that’s awesome!! omg there’s SOMEONE in the back of the room taking NOTES!!!
