I decided this morning that I should stop putting off the checking of new orders. Partially because the company hasn’t closed yet and it’s possible we won’t ever, but mostly because my desk’s inbox had an inch and a half thick stack of new orders in it. So I spent all eight hours at work [...]

The Wii was released today. While people flocked to stores and it sold out quickly, it seems that it wasn’t as stupid-insane as the PS3 launch. My mom called me up to ask if I bought a Wii. Awesome that she knows about it, unfortunate that I don’t have one.

Laura and I made shake and bake potatoes as well as a green bean casserole. The latter is a dish her aunt often makes at family events but she had a craving for it so we made our own.

It was all quite delicious.

i. Work’s super tense these days. There are more conversations whispered lately than spoken aloud. It’s rather disconcerting.
ii. The PS3 was launched today and the world has gone crazy.

iii. Laura bought me a little artificial Christmas tree today. Fibre optics and shit so I don’t even have to bother putting lights on it. Bonus!

Dennis and I went to Pho for dinner. They’re known for their rice noodle soup, so that’s what I had. It was pretty good but not as good as the lime soda I had with it. Mmmmm.

After eating, we went back to Dennis’ place where he got his extra hard drive working on his PVR [...]

Thank God it’s Wednesday already. This job certainly is a lot more challenging now that I’m taking on the jobs of 2-3 others and have to deal with customers who have heard rumours or for whom we don’t have materials to make their orders. *sigh* Not fun at all. I don’t want to lie to [...]

This morning I was called into the owner’s office with him and two of the senior management. They started out talking about how the company hasn’t paid its bills in 6 weeks or so and is in trouble. They then went on to say that there will be more layoffs today. 50% of the remaining [...]

Local voting going on today. I got this flier in the mail the other day and thought I’d share it with you:

Seriously, what the fuck is he doing with his hands? Crushing babies?
Took the day off work today and used the free time to play a tonne of WarCraft III, watch about seven episodes of [...]

Dad’s Oatmeal Cookies + Betty Crocker Rainbow Chip Icing = Delicious

In the past week, Microsoft has been giving out all kinds of new toys. Internet Explorer 7, Windows Media Player 11 and now Office 2007. It’s really interesting to see the different interface they’re going for with this move to Vista. It’s less apparent with [...]

Laura and I decided to get lunch from a newly opened pita place just down the street. After having tried it out, we’re fairly certain that the whole operation is just a front for a drug dealer. The guy didn’t know his specials, prices or ingredients, nor could he actually make/wrap the pita. They were [...]
