Man, she’s a cheap drunk
-Joe

Laura and I were up and cooking this morning. The onions were killing our eyes so we used my lab goggles for protection. The dish we prepared wasn’t as intended, but it made an excellent curry hot potato salad.

Oh, and there were a pair of Jell-o + Cool Whip pies which [...]

Laura and I spent all afternoon in the Sunrise Plaza today.
The deal was that in order to take the car to Ryan’s for New Year’s Eve tomorrow, we had to have the oil changed first. We brought the car in to Canadian Tire just after one this afternoon and then it wasn’t ready until just [...]

It’s no secret that I am a fan of the ‘nog…

…but it’s limited time availability always causes me concern. It seems like every holiday I’m trying to have some in my fridge at all times, but not let it expire.
Laura’s parents bought two cartons of the stuff for me at their place and they both [...]

Having beaten Quake 4 and StarFox: Assault in the past two weeks, I’ve returned to The Windwaker.
Tonight I have moved on to the ‘world tour’ that I’ve read so many complaints about. I currently have to collect the 8 pieces of the triforce, which are scattered hidden around the 7×7 world map. Of course, that [...]

I bought StarFox: Assault for the multiplayer, however I figured that since I just recently finished Quake 4 and I do have this game sitting around, I might as well start into the single-player aspect of it. I then proceeded to stay up far too late playing it and ended up beating the whole game. [...]

Laura and I got up at 5:30 this morning, after three hours of sleep, to be at the Waterloo Futureshop for their 6am open. When we got there, the parking lot was so packed that the closest spot was in the far end of the lot, right in front of Pier 1. On our walk [...]

Christmas morning! Don’t feel like writing, so here’s what I got Laura (the main items of focus in each picture, not all the background stuff):

…and here’s what I got:

Lots of stuff.
The afternoon was all relative stuff. Laura’s cousin Val brought her kitten, so that was cool.

There was food…

…and a gift exchange.

And then the cousins all [...]

Laura and I cooked dinner tonight for her family. They ate it but weren’t overly thrilled with it. Oh well, I loved it - it was delicious.
I finished Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys today and it was really good. A laugh-out-loud funny fantasy story. As you may have gathered from yesterday’s post, I’m a big fan [...]

Matt: What does the gun do?
Joe Miller: It shoots bullets. Really fast.
    -The Lost Room

Laura and I watched the Sci-Fi miniseries ‘The Lost Room‘ and it positively rocked my socks. I mean, it was great to see Peter Krause in something again but the story itself was really cool.
It was just an excellent fantasy story. A [...]
