a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

Memorial for Janet this morning on campus. Laura and I picked up Shawn, Rachel and Jay on the way. It was mostly some people talking about their memories of Janet and then a brief slide show presentation.

Among those who talked was this guy who got up and said he was an ex of hers. Immediately I was nervous, wondering where he was going. He really seemed like a jerk jock and as he talked it sounded like they got together early this year and broke up in September. This was interesting to me since I’m pretty sure she was with Jay in the summer and broke up with him in July. Afterwards, on the way home, Jay said about the same to us. Pretty shitty for him to find out there but it doesn’t matter at this point, and he knew it.

I hooked up Laura’s father, Leo, with some old Windows 3.1 games half a year ago and tonight he told me that he’s almost beaten all the Tetris high scores. Apparently there’s this one high score from “Louise” that he’s stuck on. In looking at the scores…

…I realized that the score he’s trying to beat was done by my sister… like 10 years ago. She was pretty damn good at the game and after about a day of trying to beat her score, I stopped even trying.

What a weird weekend: Saw a play with my old bosses, a movie with Dennis and Stephen, went to a memorial and was reminded of my sister’s unbeatable Tetris skills.
