Home, sick (of working).
Zelda virus. LOTS of Zelda. I honestly played from 9:30am straight until 8pm, only stopping for washroom breaks, to grab a drink and microwave food. And all I did was fucking side quests – nothing of the main game.
And this, after having convinced myself that it was okay not to do all the side quests and bonus things.
The Zelda virus is not my own creation. With Joe taking time off because of his gall stones etc., all occurring after the release of the Wii, Stephen keeps teasing him that he has the Zelda virus. Which might be true – who knows?
At least I finally have the ability to teleport in the game. I probably spent most of today just fucking sailing around the 7×7 square grid, where it takes 3-4 minutes to cross a single square. I know whenever I was on the phone with Laura, I was just watching my fucking boat sail across the expanse of sea.
Originally, I was a little sad at how it seemed this Zelda didn’t actually star Link, nor did it contain Princess Zelda or the land of Hyrule. In The Windwaker, that’s all an ancient fable to the people of this world. But as the game goes on, well, everything is explained in ways that are both clever and awesome.
Thankfully, The Windwaker has completely sated my gaming craving and I haven’t missed the Wii-I-don’t-own since I got back into it.
I decided to show how much Halloween candy I had left, a month after the holiday. So I attempted to put it all together in the same bag but the giant bag of Rockets burst open and they fell all over the place.

But generally, I still have this large bag of candy left:

Yeah, that’ll last me a while.

Even when the plots and areas overlap between Zelda games they generally aren’t the same. In an interview with the Twilight Princess creators they said that the new game is 100 years in the future from the Ocarina of time, and Zelda and Link aren’t even descendents of the old characters. The areas in Hyrule are similar but apparently not the same.
But I do agree with you that the fucking sailing is the downfall of the Windwaker. I’m going to beat it eventually, but mostly so I can follow the continuation into Phantom hourglass.
December 7, 2006 @ 2:31 amOh no, the plot definitely isn’t the same. It’s just that when WindWaker begins, it sounds like previous Zelda legend is merely that, a legend to them. But around the halfway point, you find out how they’re connected.
My advice to anyone planning on playing the WindWaker is that as soon as you get the bow and arrow you can get the ability to teleport. I waited a little while after that because I just didn’t know about it.
