a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

Laura and I cooked dinner tonight for her family. They ate it but weren’t overly thrilled with it. Oh well, I loved it - it was delicious.

I finished Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys today and it was really good. A laugh-out-loud funny fantasy story. As you may have gathered from yesterday’s post, I’m a big fan of fantasy that takes place in present day. I’m really not a fan of fantasy that takes place in the past with swords and dragons and such. Put it in the world I live in, add a few twists or things that I, the normal occupant of this world, simply do not notice and we’re in business. Like Neverwhere.

After dinner, we all played dice - the same game they play on the Flying Dutchman, in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 2.’ Now that I’ve played it with them, I actually understand what the hell is going on in the game.

It was a stirfry with rice noodles. It had tofu in it and I think that was the part that my family was a little iffy on.

Laura’s picky about food in general, and her family is picky about her food… GAH, there’s just no winning is there? :P

maybe tofu is an acquired taste. as a kid i thought it was slimy and disgusting. now i think it’s always FULL of the flavours it’s cooked in and i love it.
