I watched the movie ‘Kids’ last night and I really hated the main kid.
I guess it’s a successful movie since it has such realistic, believable characters that I KNOW people like that and they piss me off so much I just want bad things to happen to them. But not a lot happens and in [...]

Dexter is a fantastically cool show. Laura and I just finished watching season one. It was only 12 episode but they were excellent episodes. Thankfully, it’s been renewed for a 2nd season and it’s apparently quite the hit. Way to go Showtime.
I finished Quake 4 tonight.

Just barely, too. Look at my health at the end [...]

I got a bottle of wine today at work; a Cabernet Franc. The metal recycling place we use (they pay us for our scrap, so therefore they still like us since we don’t owe them anything) brought in 4 bottles of wine for us as a Christmas gift.
My manager wore musical Christmas socks today. They [...]

Time’s 5 Things That Went From Buzz to Bust (in no particular order):

a. Snakes on a Plane
b. OJ Simpson’s ‘If I Did It’ (book/interview)
c. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
d. PS3
e. Bode Miller

My thoughts?

a. I was never excited about the movie and still haven’t seen it. Also, that Cobras song from the movie was terrible.
b. [...]

Family,
Ho ho ho! My company went into receivership today.
Merry Christmas!
There was another company looking to buy ours: They put in a really low bid a couple weeks ago, which was rejected, and then came in with a new bid at the beginning of last week. They were here all week, performing due diligence, but on [...]

Star decided not to buy us so today Heidt Products went into receivership.
Why did they decide not to? No one knows for sure. Things seemed pretty definite so something must have spooked them. Either that or they realized it was a bad idea.
The instructions I was given this morning were, “Don’t process the new orders [...]

Not much to say. I sat and watched Laura and her sister ice cookies this afternoon. After I “helped” last year, I wasn’t allowed to aid them this year. Apparently I don’t bring the skillz required. I didn’t mind - I prefer to sit on the sidelines and eat the cookies anyway.
Laura and I caught [...]

Up around noon, showered and headed for lunch at the Mongolian Grill with Melissa, too.

On our way home, Dennis, Joe and I stopped in at Futureshop and Best Buy. Joe bought me Quake 4 as a belated birthday present so I installed that tonight while Laura napped.
[Note: If you were wondering why there weren't many [...]

Dennis picked me up after work today and we drove out to Ryan’s. On the way, we stopped off at Alison’s parents’ place and also grabbed Joe at a subway stop.
Melissa was mostly out for the night (presumably she couldn’t bear to witness Ryan nerd it up with us) so it was just us four [...]

Apparently, I follow 6 of the Top 10 TV Shows of 2006:

Battlestar Galactica
Dexter
Heroes
The Office
South Park
24

(the remaining 4 have been omitted from the list due to irrelevance)
I’m really glad those top four are on that list - they’re certainly my top four favourite shows currently on TV.
As I walked home today with a short-sleeve golf shirt [...]
