Monday is suddenly a very busy night for TV. When did that happen?
- Battlestar Galactica (actually airs Sunday, but by the time it airs and I download it, I’ll be watching it Mondays)
- Doctor Who (on CBC)
- Little Mosque on the Prairie (not sure if this is its regular day and time)
- Heroes
- 24
- Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (usually I catch it on Sundays but I was taping ‘Once Upon a Time in Mexico’ on CityTV last night)
On to those TV shows… [constant spoilers to follow]
24
Jack Bauer is in-fucking-human. He survives the shock wave of a nuclear blast and the two years of constant torture are forgotten. Suddenly he’s back to kicking ass… beginning with the suffocation of his own brother. Ridiculous.
His brother’s wife, of course, is the crippled wife of Nathan Petrelli in Heroes. And the blond bimbo who was in the episode tonight, she’s the friend Beth Huffstdot makes out with in season two of Huff.
Also…is anyone else thinking that Jack’s brother’s son looks a little too similar to Jack and his [hot] daughter?
Heroes
Christopher Eccleston joins the show! Who? The Doctor from Doctor Who last season and the leader of the military base in ‘28 Days Later.’ Looks like he becomes more important next week. Excellent!
Battlestar Galactica
I say it all the time, but it really is a fantastic show. Is Baltar a Cylon?? I felt SO bad for him when D’Anna dies in his arms knowing what he wants to know but doesn’t tell him. I could totally empathize with him as he stood up and shouted at the heavens… and then I cheered loud enough to annoy my neighbors when Tyrol snuck up and pistol-whipped the fucker into unconsciousness.
Is Starbuck one of the final five? Is that why she’s so special? The final five are somehow super special, having some close connection to God and Kara does seem to have some unique destiny so it might work…
Helo killing Athena? That would be hard as hell to do but it’s such an awesome solution to get their child.
Are Baltar and Caprica Six going to be stuck in a cell together on Galactica now? The original two human/cylon lovers, reunited (by force) at last.
I was pretty worried that Tigh would just kill Six when she stepped off the raptor. So now what happens? Will she win over their trust and show that she’s willing to be a part of their crew in order to ensure the safety of the child - the future of the Cylons? Does she care? Does she prefer humans?
What about Baltar? There’s no proof that he did something worthy of death or imprisonment, is there? They all hate him because it seems like he was in collusion with the Cylons on New Caprica and sold out the humans but did he do much else? And then there’s the whole general pardon Roslin invoked. Will that apply to him? I’m sure no one wants it to apply to him… I imagine the next episode will be all about what to do with Baltar.

Little Mosque airs on Wednesdays at 8 on CBC. Th monday version is a r4erun of the previous week.
