I may have lied yesterday. I made it out to sound like Laura, Rachel and Katelyn were just hanging out yesterday, enjoying each other’s company. Truth is, Katelyn came down with something in Mexico and yesterday Rachel and Laura brought Katelyn to the hospital where they were hoping for some quick fix to some simple ailment.

As of sleep-time tonight, they still do not know what is wrong with her. She’s in semi-quarantine where you have to gown up to go visit her and they have been conducting every test imaginable on her from repeated blood work (regularly coming in for more blood to test) to x-rays to checking her heart and head. They’re in the middle of downtown Toronto so they’ve got no end of experts and they all keep parading in and out of her room.

Really, the only thing they don’t have is Gregory House.

Anyway, Laura’s parents were alerted today and came up to Toronto to visit and Laura and I joined them. It certainly was odd having to gown up just to go into her room to see her.

I spent the last hour of tonight reading my new book, Coraline, and listening to You Are the One by Shiny Toy Guns on repeat. As much as Le Disko was a pretty cool first single, I can see how its somewhat different sound might not appeal to a lot of people. You Are the One, the first song on the album, seems like a much better candidate to be a single. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t their second released single. Well, unless their label gives up on them and doesn’t release a second single.

Heroes

It was fucking crazy awesome tonight. A number of really cool reveals: Invisible guy used to work with Claire’s dad? Sweet. George Taki (Hiro’s dad) is running the show when it comes to Claire’s dad’s corporation and was the one who told him to raise Claire? Sweetness.

Then the actual events of the episode were really good, too. I loved the two guys working together through telekinesis to thwart Mr. Anger-Management.

And Claire walking out of the house, charred to a crisp but healing as she walked towards the group? Fantastic.
