It was a beautiful day today - it was up to 18 degrees by the time I headed to work just after noon. Since it was so nice out, I thought I’d bike to work but then discovered my front tire was flat… so instead I had to walk.
On my walk there I came upon an accident between an SUV, now on it’s side with all its glass in pieces on the road, and a mini-van, now with it’s sliding side door on the pavement, beside a large pool of blood. Whoever had been in the vehicles had been taken away already (thankfully) but the cops directing traffic wouldn’t let anyone through the intersection until they threw stuff on the blood to soak it up. So more time lost.
Once I arrived, I waited seven minutes for an elevator, only to find the one that arrived completely full. Apparently two out of three of the elevators weren’t working. Instead, I walked up to the 4th floor.
…only to find all the computers were already in use or broken. After searching for a few minutes, I asked my manager and he found me a spot way off around a corner, out on my own. It was actually kind of a cool place.
So it was kind of a rough start but other than feeling frazzled by it, it was far too much to even be bothered by it anymore.
But I felt really crappy as the day went on. It seems like I’ve got a cold or something and the worst of it is hitting right about now.
