StarCraft 2 was announced over the weekend and since then, I’ve been playing StarCraft all week. All kinds of fun, I really missed it. When I first loaded it up I was struck by how dated the graphics looked. Well, it is a nine-year-old game so that’s not surprising. What was surprising was that by the end of the first short little tutorial level, I was so into the actual gameplay that I haven’t really cared about the graphics since. It’s just so awesome.

Speaking of retro-gaming, the other game I’ve been playing a lot this week is Donkey Kong Country 2. It was released on the Wii Virtual Console on Monday and I’ve been rocking it hard since. I think I’m on the 4th world with around 50 lives. The three Donkey Kong Country games on the SNES were definitely my favourite games on there. Well, those and Super Mario World. I guess Super Mario RPG was awesome, too, but had little replay value. Super Mario World + the Kong games are games I’ve probably beaten two or three times each and will continue beating for years to come!
