a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

The results show of So You Think You Can Dance last night began with two unnecessary apologies. One from one of the judges who had worn a (very fashionable) faux military jacket the night before which had a military symbol upside down on the sleeve or something. Apparently this drove people into a frenzy and she had to apologize for it. I felt bad for her - she just wore it because it looked cool (which it did).

The second apology was far more ridiculous. The night before, each of the dancers performed the same solo routine. It was a dance about peace, to a song about wanting to change the world, during which the dancers wore shirts with words on them such as, hope, understanding, and love.

And somehow this offended people.

OMG, seriously. You’re telling me that you do not want peace in the world? That to say that peace is good, is a bad thing?

It was very unfortunate that time had to be wasted on those unnecessary apologies when it could have been better spent on the very talented remaining dancers.
