a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

The new Matthew Good album, Hospital Music, came out at midnight tonight (aka, right on the 31st) on the iTunes music store and I grabbed it right away. Upon first listen, it is quite excellent.

I finished reading Hybrids a little while ago and it was alright. Not as good as the first book of the trilogy but not anything bad, either. What really bugged me is that much of the book was spent rehashing what happened in the first two books, as if it were written for someone who hadn’t read the first two, which would be pretty stupid. It was pretty annoying to have so much time dedicated to moments where they explain why something is going on the way it is because of what happened already. Ugh.

Also, the relationship stuff in the book was kind of boring, too. But there was still some cool stuff in there, especially just to finish off the overall story of the parallel worlds. Worth the read if you enjoyed the first two books.
