Western Canada Road Trip, Day 1
Kitchener, ON to Sault Ste Marie, ON - 743 km

Laura and I left this morning around 9:30am. It was raining periodically and mostly overcast all day. Dull weather’s really not that great for keeping you interested and alert.

Some of the interesting things we passed today:

  • Jackknife Motel (oh sure, I’d feel safe staying there)
  • Spanish Horticultural Society (because Laura’s sister is always talking about Mexican gardeners)
  • Shady Rest Motel (creepy, see above)

After only getting only about five hours of sleep last night, Laura and I were pretty exhausted when we stumbled into Sault Ste Marie, 9 hours of driving later.

The hotel we’re at has free wireless internet, which is good. We had barely unpacked stuff before Laura was off Facebook’ing

Since I left town today, I figured it was safe to post satellite images of my old neighborhood. If you click, you can see things I’ve pointed out.

The highlighted path was the route I was hoping to take to work when I moved there. You know, if I hadn’t had a change in jobs the week before I moved.
