a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

Laura and I went out for a walk tonight. It was cool out but not cold like some other nights here lately. Still, it was especially mild for a late-September night. Laura tells me that it was so warm out today in Kitchener (this is via her parents, of course), that it was actually uncomfortably hot and humid.

When I first moved to Kitchener-Waterloo in September 2000, it was an especially unbearably hot and humid September. The first two weeks were just killer - especially to me, having just come from hot but dry BC.

At the end of that first sweltering September week of Frosh, it rained. Not just a little rain but a huge, soaking outright downpour. The kind where after 20-30 seconds in it, the rain has soaked completely through your clothes and there’s no longer any point in trying to ‘keep dry’ because all your dry is gone and you can’t possibly get more wet. It rained and it was awesome.

Now follows the first hot, humid September in K-W without me there.

[Wow, that was a total reminiscent old-man thought.]
