No, Laura and I didn’t suddenly get ourselves an apartment and decide to forget hydro. But that part comes later.

This afternoon, Laura and I stopped by Wal-Mart so I could pick up a plain black tie for my interview on Monday. It has recently become apparent that I had a negligible assortment of ties and I have been trying to slowly build that up, as the needs arise this summer.

Later in the afternoon, I helped Geoff replace all the old, ugly light switches and outlets with new ones:

We probably replaced a dozen or more of them and when we switched the breaker back on, it blew. Did we wire something wrong? Was it simply time for the aging breaker to finally give? We have no idea but while Geoff waits for an electrician in this labour-shortage, Laura and I are stuck performing nightly bathroom duties by candlelight.
