I started off today with two interviews for different call centres. I nailed both and while one offered me the job on the spot, the other one just wanted to run a background check. Considering that second one is a third-party company that has been taking Rogers wireless calls for less time than I worked for Rogers, they’d love to have me, too. Oh right, and the HR guy who interviewed me is a guy who remembers me from church and picking up pizza, when I lived in Penticton.
It’s nice to know my options, but I will probably call both on Monday to decline the offers for now and just keep them as backups, if necessary.
Went out to dinner with the family to celebrate my birthday (a bit late) at Shine, by Ric’s Grill.

The food was quite delicious and the place was quite flashy and stylish. In fact, as we came out of the restaurant, the road was lined with 20-30 super nice, super expensive cars. Corvettes, Lamborghinies, some really expensive Maserati I’d never seen before. Not a single one under $800 000. I’m not sure what party was going on out in the patio of the restaurant but there were 3-5 bouncers guarding the cars on the street alone.
After dinner, Laura and I went to see the Blue Man Group with my parents. Mike Relm opened and really impressed Laura and I.
“He mixes music of all genres with video into one seamless set,” and it’s super-entertaining.
The Blue Man Group themselves were pretty cool and entertaining, too. A rather “different” experience that was somewhere between comedic show and rock concert. I’d definitely recommend it, just to experience it for yourself.
While I might not rush out to see the Blue Man Group again, I would definitely make the effort to see another Mike Relm show.
