a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

Drove Laura to the airport this afternoon. It was expected to be the busiest travel day of the year and while the arrivals side of the airport was busy, the departures was completely vacant. We had some lunch at the airport restaurant and then Laura went through security without a line or anyone else in sight.

This was the day she left here in BC:

And this is what awaited her in Ontario:

While I was in the terminal, this car parked beside me in the parking lot:

Hung out with Kris, Karen and Matt for the rest of the afternoon and then returned home to head out immediately to the Keg for dinner with Louise and Geoff. After that, I had enough time to brush my teeth and head out again to meet up with Karen and Matt at Boston Pizza for a quick drink before we headed off to the comedy club for a Yuk Yuk’s stand-up thing.

There were two comics that performed and both were good. Matt and I liked the first guy better, largely because the crowd didn’t like him as much and that amused us. The headliner comic got better as the crowd bought him more and more alcohol.

Afterwards, JJ picked me up and we went to Wal-Mart, at 11:30pm. The idea was that since Wal-Mart is presently open 24 hours, we should take advantage. We weren’t planning to buy anything there but 1.5 hours of browsing later, JJ had $60 in DVDs in his arms and while falling asleep, waiting to check out, I spotted some good headphones I picked up to replace Laura’s dying ones.

We couldn’t believe how busy it was in there at 1am. And seniors? I didn’t think they went out after dark, let alone after midnight.

Following that, we came back here where we hung out, chatted and played on the Wii until 3am. Or was it 4?
