a sporadic self-chronicle since 2001

written by Robert. J. Sawyer

I’m assuming you’ve read the book or at least the back cover, and won’t spoil anything more than that.

Early on, when things go wrong and the husband gets his rollback while his wife doesn’t, I was upset. I was so upset, in feeling the frustration of the main character, that I almost didn’t want to continue reading the book. I did, of course, and later on as the 87, now 25-year-old, started to try and begin his new lease on life, I was totally on-board and feeling conflicted but positive with him.

I don’t remember ever being so emotionally invested in Sawyer’s previous books. I mean, it might have happened, but I can’t recall it ever being the case. Either way, Rollback was very well written, thought-provoking and most importantly, interesting and enjoyable to read. Pretty much the standard with Sawyer’s stories.
