I know I’ve recently talked about Nintendo’s Wii et al. but it recently hit me that Nintendo’s coming out pretty strong for software this spring:

March: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
April: Mario Kart Wii
May: Wii Fit + WiiWare

The WiiWare stuff announced at the Nintendo media summit earlier this week looks like it could be awesome.

I had dismissed Wii Fit but it looks like it’s absolutely excellent at what it aims to do. After reading this normal guy’s account of his time with it, I’m looking forward to it. I’m just not sure I would stick with it. I guess I have a month to figure that out. Or longer – I suppose I don’t have to buy it at launch.

SSBB and Mario Kart Wii are two pretty big titles and will do a lot to get non-casual people playing their Wiis again. I just hope Nintendo doesn’t stop there and hang us out to dry for the rest of the year.
