…so I try and see how fast I can shake them off without being rude and simply hanging up on them.

So far the two best tactics for me have been:

1. I’m a student with no money (this works most of the time)
2. I just lost my job (also works most of the time)

The banks are the worst for foiling these approaches. They have all the reasons why my lack of money shouldn’t stop me from purchasing new services. Oh, they just have all the answers, don’t they?
