I finally backed up and formatted myself from x86 to x64 Vista. With 4GB of RAM in this machine, it’s the smart thing to do. I was hesitant to when I first built this machine because I remembered hearing from the Maximum PC guys that x64 had driver, app and stability issues… or something. I think that was closer to the Vista release, though. Lately, they’ve been pretty positive about it so Ryan and I talked ourselves into formatting this week.

Turned out to be a quick, smooth format – which is always good. Something I hadn’t expected is that it has now created two Program Files dirs, one for x64 and one for x86 apps:
