Possibly the weirdest thing ever:
This happened some time back in October or November. It was a fairly mild fall night, probably around eleven, eleven thirty and Laura and I were out for a walk. As we spilled out of a side alley onto the street, there was this guy parked across from us under a [...]

Today was my second last day at Rogers and with the company not willing to give a reference of me professionally, it’s really hard to motivate myself. In addition, the new schedule scheme begins today so I’m on a different shift from all my other work friends so I sat mostly alone or with strangers [...]

Today was the official sales part of the training. It was actually the sales course we started back in March and never finished.
You know those comedies where there’s some bumbling nerd trying to hit on and date some hot girl and he messes everything up and you can’t believe how bad he is at all [...]

Today, Side Effects Software (my company!) released the beta of our latest version, Houdini 9.0!
You can get a free version from our web site. If you’re interested, I suggest using the torrents, the links to which are available at the bottom-right of [...]

Today was another potluck. Sure we just had one under a week ago but that was just us friends and now it was our training class. Le sigh. Not surprisingly, none of us really wanted to do another but none of us gave resistance and the motion was passed through the class. It turned out [...]

Training until midnight on a Friday is absolutely terrible.

After work, I walked to Abstract to meet up with Dennis.

We drove over to Phil’s where Shawn was doing his birthday thing and I finally met Shawn’s younger brother, Neil (in front):

Shawn and Candace took off around twenty after one, shortly after which Dennis and I left. [...]

I realized today that I’m not really looking forward to sales.
A whole bunch of cell phone companies were in the lunch room at work today: Nokia, Palm, Samsung, Morotola, LG, RIM and the Rogers Vision (HSDPA) stuff. All just showing their wares and handing out free stuff - mostly hand-outs (which I avoided) and a [...]

Second day of training was… meh. I made some right-handed drawings:

I believe that’s a star and an Apple mouse floating above the TARDIS.
It was a nice night out tonight. Well, nice and cool, though humid. After work, I wasted a few hours here and then went out at 4am to take pictures around town.

I and most of my fulfillment class got sort of promoted at work. Because of our progress in sales, they’re transferring us to the converged sales team. Same base pay, higher commissions and higher potential for commissions: Instead of order-taking from 3rd party dealers (where they get the commission), all the calls that the system [...]

Matthew Good’s new album, Hospital Music, comes out July 31st and it’s available as a stream starting today on Matt Good’s site.
And it’s good. I was up late last night listening to it.

Ah yes, I drew those late tonight.
Also, Laura and I watched ‘The Ex’ tonight and it was most excellent!
