Today was the annual pumpkin mutilation…
Laura and I had a plan…
…which turned out pretty well, actually:
Geoff went the route of the power tools:
But they all turned out pretty well.

Brunch to start the day off…
I did say on Friday that this would be a weekend of food, right?
More eating, drinking, Wii and then a big Thanksgiving dinner.
Later in the evening we had a rematch of Settlers of Catan in which Laura and I dominated, our victory thanks, in part, to Scott for making a [...]

Today was spent just generally hanging out here, eating food, drinking etc. The usual holiday family events (says the guy who hasn’t been around his own family for a holiday in many years).
Geoff and Scott did a little Wii-boxing before dinner.
Later on, after the parents and kids had gone to bed, we played Settlers of [...]

I started off today with two interviews for different call centres. I nailed both and while one offered me the job on the spot, the other one just wanted to run a background check. Considering that second one is a third-party company that has been taking Rogers wireless calls for less time than I worked [...]

This afternoon I went out golfing with Geoff and dad. They tied while I… doubled their score. Interestingly, the owners of the course have their own helicopter:
Meanwhile, Laura went with my sister, mother, niece and aunt to some winery.

Before dinner tonight, my five-year-old niece decided to dress me and her dad up as fairies. After dinner, we went out into the front yard and played soccer.
…and Laura decided to sneak outside and take pictures of it all.

I like that conversations between Laura, Louise and I go over like ones between friends and not like an adult to people younger than them. Louise seems to welcome our presence as people she can talk to and hang out with in-between all her regular work and household chores.
I also like that my sister isn’t [...]

Port Stanley Vacation
Day 5
I was pulled from rest this morning and voluntold to make blueberry pancakes with the mother while Laura and Louise went for a run. I’m told this turned both my mother and I into “grumpy pants.”
Behold! My nieces and nephew!
JP and his family left, Laura and I hit the beach briefly, showered, [...]

Day 4
Up and off to the beach this morning…
When we came back, Jason had to head back home since he works tonight, and tomorrow and the day after….
Laura’s mom and Aunt Anita came later in the afternoon to visit, as did nearly all my relatives on my father’s side. We all met up [...]

Day 3
This morning, Laura and I went for a walk to get Laura-food. On our way back, we stopped at the LCBO and picked up Fusion Grenades:
I guess they are just pomegranate drinks, but whatever.
Upon returning, we rushed off with the brothers, dad and Jared to head on a train ride.
Kind of a [...]
