Port Stanley Vacation
Day 2

This morning I went golfing at the Port Stanley Bluffs with Louise, Geoff, Heidi, her husband Wayne, Jason and dad.

Most of the family went to the beach in the late morning, at which point dad went to the store and bought a few cases of Coke. Tragedy averted. Apparently we’re kind of [...]

Port Stanley Vacation
Day 1
Up early today and caught the first morning bus to London. Wasn’t sure who was going to pick me up at the Greyhound station there but as it turned out it was my cousin Heidi, whom I hadn’t seen in probably four years. We drove down to Port Stanley and arrived at [...]

Today was the Mother’s Day thing with Laura’s whole family.
Just a late lunch thing where we had Swiss Chalet take-out. Delicious!

Ah yes, and a delicious dessert followed the food.

Then Val and I climbed the tree in the front yard.

At the suggestion of a number of Laura’s relatives, I brought the Wii to Laura’s Easter family dinner and everyone loved it. It was the hit of the party. Many Mii’s made and three generations all playing together. Interestingly enough, the fastest learner of Wii Sports Bowling was 6-year-old Ashley.

Also, I managed to find an [...]

Spent the afternoon with Laura’s relatives in Mississauga, including relatives from across the pond. The girl (Laura’s father’s uncle’s daughter, I think she was) has spent the past eight years in London so her accent is a pretty cool mix of Finnish and British now.

Came home and installed Vista. Kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision but [...]

I may have lied yesterday. I made it out to sound like Laura, Rachel and Katelyn were just hanging out yesterday, enjoying each other’s company. Truth is, Katelyn came down with something in Mexico and yesterday Rachel and Laura brought Katelyn to the hospital where they were hoping for some quick fix to some simple [...]

The water in my bathroom decided not to drain today. It seems everything is connected in my bathroom and while Laura was showering, the water seemed to stop draining. She had to cut her shower short because she didn’t want the accumulating water to spill over the lip of the shower.
When flushing the toilet, the [...]

Christmas morning! Don’t feel like writing, so here’s what I got Laura (the main items of focus in each picture, not all the background stuff):

…and here’s what I got:

Lots of stuff.
The afternoon was all relative stuff. Laura’s cousin Val brought her kitten, so that was cool.

There was food…

…and a gift exchange.

And then the cousins all [...]

Laura and I cooked dinner tonight for her family. They ate it but weren’t overly thrilled with it. Oh well, I loved it – it was delicious.
I finished Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys today and it was really good. A laugh-out-loud funny fantasy story. As you may have gathered from yesterday’s post, I’m a big fan [...]

Family,
Ho ho ho! My company went into receivership today.
Merry Christmas!
There was another company looking to buy ours: They put in a really low bid a couple weeks ago, which was rejected, and then came in with a new bid at the beginning of last week. They were here all week, performing due diligence, but on [...]
