I didn’t watch the Canadian Leaders’ debate on Thursday but downloaded and watched it this morning. Interesting that the whole two hours seemed to be the party leaders all ganging up on Stephen Harper.
It really bugged me that Harper was such a calm robot through the whole debate. The other leaders were all worked up [...]

…so I try and see how fast I can shake them off without being rude and simply hanging up on them.
So far the two best tactics for me have been:
1. I’m a student with no money (this works most of the time)
2. I just lost my job (also works most of the time)
The banks are [...]

I think I was sold on the idea of Wii Fit. I had hopes that it would be a more interesting form of exercise and that if I kept at it, it might make some difference in my general health and wellness. I went into EB a few weeks before release to preorder it… only [...]

Reading Rollback recently and listening to a recent Escape Pod episode (I didn’t really care for that story but did find the premise interesting) has gotten me to thinking…
We’re getting to a point, or will be there in the future, where we can create such intricate virtual worlds that we will eventually create beings within [...]

I know I’ve recently talked about Nintendo’s Wii et al. but it recently hit me that Nintendo’s coming out pretty strong for software this spring:
March: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
April: Mario Kart Wii
May: Wii Fit + WiiWare
The WiiWare stuff announced at the Nintendo media summit earlier this week looks like it could be awesome.
I had dismissed [...]

In my online readings and podcast listens, it seems many people in the games industry have a low opinion of the Wii. Certainly, it is less powerful than the other two consoles of the current generation but it’s selling like rocks of crack. But the attach rate is pretty low (meaning of the Wiis [...]

I remember when the digital distribution of games really got started, back when Valve released Half-Life 2, and at first we all thought the way to make it work was to sell the games cheaper. They were cutting out the costs of physical production, shipping and retail fees so why not charge less to the [...]

I feel like I have a higher amount of anxiety about driving, as compared to other people I know who drive. Mainly, others do not appear to have any regular anxiety about the activity but I will admit that I feel some. I don’t think it’s an unhealthy thing, though. It never stops me from [...]

Do you ever get things stuck in your head in the morning? I do every day and it’s usually something annoying, unlikeable or simple. This morning it was the outro music from The Apprentice. Yesterday it was the theme song from The Nanny (yeah, I’m not linking to anything to do with that). It’s usually [...]

Further surprising insights from the Wii:

For some reason I was under the impression that I was in the minority by choosing to sleep on my side most of the time. It just seemed more comfortable than on my back. At least, it used to. Since we got the new, giant bed I’ve found that it’s [...]
